Origin: Uteuzi Jimbo, Kenya

Taste profile: Sugar browning, cooked melon, with mellow raisin undertones. Bright, tart citric acidity balanced by a gentle, sugary sweetness.
This coffee comes from the Uteuzi Jimbo program — “county select” in Swahili — created to showcase the distinct character of Kenya’s renowned coffee-growing regions, including Nyeri, Embu, Muranga, and Kirinyaga. Each of these counties has its own microclimate shaped by elevation, soil, wind patterns, sunlight, and other natural factors, all of which contribute to the unmistakable “taste of place” found in the cup.
As part of the Regional Select program, this lot is built from coffees scoring between 84–87 on a 100-point scale, chosen for their clarity, sweetness, and regional expression. Rather than coming from a single farm, the coffee is blended from select factories within the county to achieve a consistent profile that reflects the area’s unique growing conditions.
The result is a traceable, high-quality Kenyan coffee that highlights the vibrant flavors the region is known for — a bright, expressive cup that offers a true sense of origin.
