On the red‑volcanic slopes below Mt. Kenya, hundreds of smallholder farmers, many of them women managing family plots, deliver hand‑picked, fully ripe cherries to the Kithungururu Factory (washing station) in Embu County. After traditional Kenyan double‑fermentation washing and raised‑bed drying, the coffee is graded. A fraction emerges as peaberries, naturally occurring round seeds. Expect sparkling acidity and tea‑like clarity lining up for perfect bright, clean cups.
