Straight from the source

Finca La Candela belongs to the Lotero Cano family, a third generation of coffee farmers living in the village of La Loma Del Guamo in the town of Titiribí, Antioquia.

Alberto Lotero, the father, purchased a large portion of the farm eight years ago from a neighboring coffee farmer named Luis Rios. While Alberto and his family already owned some plots, most of the current farm was acquired during that purchase.

The farm has always been called La Candela—a name given by the previous owner and kept by the Lotero family. Today, the farm hosts around 10,000 coffee trees, though they started with only 4,000. All of them are 100% Arabica, Castillo varietal.

Alberto met Gloria Cano in 1985. Together they raised a family of five. Their two daughters, Yuliana and Fernanda, and their eldest son, Andrés, who now works alongside Alberto in the fields every day.

The Lotero family represents a traditional Colombian coffee-producing family: hardworking, family-oriented, and guided by strong values and principles.
