Introducing our newest addition to the Featured Collection, a remarkable SL 28 from Costa Rica's renowned West Valley. This coffee is the result of the dedication and innovation of the Delgado family, who operate the Cerro San Luis Micromill in Grecia. A family-run business, Cerro San Luis is managed by siblings Alexander and Magali Delgado, along with their spouses. Together, they have transformed their farms by focusing on quality and diversity, cultivating over 10 different coffee varieties, including this amazing SL 28.
Nestled in the picturesque West Valley, the Delgado family's farms sit side by side, yet each plot is uniquely named to preserve the distinct characteristics of every lot. After harvesting, the cherries are brought directly to the family home, where they are processed using a range of methods, from washed to honey and natural processes. At Cerro San Luis, the type of honey process is determined by the amount of mucilage left on the coffee after depulping, a technique that highlights the careful craftsmanship behind each batch.
This light roast SL 28 brings notes of dark chocolate and brown sugar, complemented by mellow raisin flavors. The coffee's tangy malic acidity and syrupy sweetness create a balanced and satisfying experience, making it a standout choice for those who appreciate complexity in their cup.

Cerro San Luis Micromill is a family business run by two siblings Alexander and Magali Delgado and their spouses, who own and operate both farms and a small mill in Grecia, in the West Valley. In the interest of improving their quality and remaining competitive, they have focused on growing different varieties, and about 4 years ago they replaced their older stock with 10 or more different types of coffee, including Caturra, Red and Orange Bourbon, SL-28, Catuai, Villa Sarchi, and Maragogype.
The family's farms are adjacent to one another, but the plots are given separate names for lot separation purposes, and the mill is located at the family home, just a few miles away.
After harvesting, the cherry is brought right to the family home, where they are able to do a variety of different processes, from washed and honeys to natural. As is common at mills in Costa Rica, at Cerro San Luis the type of honey is decided by how much mucilage is left on the coffee after depulping.
